Final Project!

So here it is!!! Actually it is not much different then my previous post but classmates just suggested I blur the photos more but I liked it the way it was. There is a lot of advertising done at sporting events and I felt that with the pictures as they are it gives the feel of advertisement. I am really happy with the finished product because I feel that it represents me and my four years at OSU really well. I started thinking about this idea a couple weeks ago and thought that since I am graduating this was a really good project idea. A lot of things happened while I was in college and though not all of it was good, it all made me who I am today. I have grown and changed a lot over 4 years, for the better I believe. It was kind of sad fro me to think about my college career because it made me realize I am about to embark on a new journey of my life, and I have no idea what that is yet! I remember being really stressed thinking about graduating and when I was taking a picture of my cap and tassel reality really sunk in that I am graduating!!!
When I was working on this project I wasn't sure how I was going to arrange all of my different experiences on the background. I was going to make a path and just put pictures any where on the Shoe but then I talked to the teach and he suggested to think about random placement. After talking to him I thought about it more and how when I was thinking of the major events I didn't think of them in order I just thought about them and as they came to me I wrote them down. So thats when I decided to just put them on as random. I knew from the beginning that I wanted the Shoe to be my background and I took that picture personally so I think it adds to my connection with this project. I wanted to put my cousin and grandma in the clouds as if to show they are in heaven now. That part was super hard for me having to go back and think about freshman year first quarter when two people I dearly loved died three days apart. For my cousin his favorite color was orange, as is mine, and every time I find a feather I think of him and know that he is always looking out for me. That is why I put a little orange feather with his picture. For my grandma she used to sing us a ladybug song when we were younger so anytime I see a ladybug it reminds me of her so I added a little ladybug with her picture. I gained a lot of valuable experience in college and I added all my jobs/internships/volunteering in my project to show that. Hopefully it will help me get a good job...we shall see. I added a picture of my family because coming to college meant moving away from my parents (only three hours but still it was new for me) and my animals (who were like my kids!) that was hard for me but I knew it was necessary for me to grow up. There are two pictures of me and my friends. I added these because I thought it was funny/cool to see how we changed over four years. The four girls I am with in both pictures lived on the same floor as me freshman year. The picture on the right is all of us senior year. I think it is cool we ended up living together in the end too. It will be hard saying goodbye to them! Then I have a picture of me and my boyfriend who I just started dating senior year which is funny because I had a crush on him since freshman year of high school.. Oh yea Stradley Hall was my dorm freshman year. Then I put on my cap and tassel. In the middle if you noticed I put the word BELIEVE on the field. My parents raised me by telling me anything is possible just believe in yourself and you can accomplish whatever you want in life. This word means a lot to me and I do believe!!
So I realized a lot of feelings went into this project. From happiness, to sadness, I realized that it was very bittersweet for me making this. I am ready to graduate and excited but at the same time I am nervous how things are going to work out and if I will still keep in touch with my awesome friends I met in my OSU experience. I am glad I did this for my project because it allows me to look back on all my experiences at once. And yes, there were other things that happened during my four years at OS but I only had so much room and the ones included on the final project were the ones that stood out the most to me. I really enjoyed this class and am glad I had the opportunity to take it. This may have just been an elective to fill up time for me to be a full-time student but I learned a lot of new things that I will take with me throughout my life. For me this class was more then just about art, it really got you to think and, for me at least, helped me grow as a person and think about things more in depth. So I want to say thank you!  Hope you like my final project!!
